[Windmill-dev] Outstanding usability issues

I'd like to try and catalog what we find are our current usability  
issues.

Almost all of them are related to features we working on in 0.4, I  
would like to have features for 0.4 drop in to 0.3.x bugfix releases  
and as we solidify those features and close out all of our outstanding  
usability issues we will roll the 0.4 release.

When replying to this email please refrain from commenting on specific  
items and adding usability items in the same email. Please add items  
in a single mail and comment in another.

Service / windmill.py
-Running single JSON test file works outside of load_test and run_test
-Current there is no way to run a directory of JSON files that doesn't  
contain __init__.py, the technical issues are related to the previous  
issue

Outside Developer Adoption
-Convoluted XMLRPC interface

wxWindmill
-Cannot run/load test flie/directory with single menu item
-Settings don't persist
-No UI for configuring settings
-No options for JavaScript framework

IDE
-Preferences don't persist
-No support for saving as JavaScript (actually related to the service_
-I'm confused by how to us the shell, mochikit's shell seemed a bit  
more intuitive

Documentation
-JavaScript test framework lacks strong docs, mainly because we're  
still working on it
-Very few documents for people developing "on" windmill rather than  
"in" windmill
-We have really neglected documentation how writing tests directly in  
a language, we assume something of a record -> save -> edit workflow
