+1 on merging team, mailing lists, and product name (+1 for Cosmo as  
the more recognized, unburdened name)

+0 to an architectural merge.  Good interfaces make good developer  
independence and testability.  Revise my vote upward slightly if we  
have the discipline to separate the GUI from the engine such that the  
GUI only uses public interfaces of API classes, and if all these  
public API methods are documented and available for others to use as  
well.  With Xythos WebFile Server and the "Sharemation" GUI we never  
released a version of the project without verifying that the  
interface was clean, documented and thought-out from a customer point  
of view -- we made Sharemation act as our own pseudo-customer. We  
never regretted this approach.
