I built the gcj 3.4.6 binaries which were used to build the gcj-PyLucene 
binaries available from PyLucene's web site. These were built with 
LARGE_CONFIG as were all gcj binaries I built. The LARGE_CONFIG define
solves the "too many root sets" error, not the "too many heap sections" one
of which I had never heard before yesterday.
