OK, you can now get PyLucene 2.2.0-1 for OS X 10.4.10, for the system
Python (2.3.5), at

Intel, dynamically linked:  http://www2.parc.xerox.com/isl/members/janssen/pylucene/PyLucene-2.2.0-1-OSX-10.4-i386-gcc-4.0.2.tar.gz

PowerPC, statically linked:  http://www2.parc.xerox.com/isl/members/janssen/pylucene/PyLucene-2.2.0-1-OSX-10.4-ppc-gcc-3.4.4.tar.gz

I like to use the system Python to avoid the confusion of installing
multiple Pythons.
