[General] a question about SMTP setup and alarms

Hi,

I've just installed Chandler and for some reason it won't do the tests
for the SMTP setup.
I've got sygate personal firewall which should have alerted me about
Chandler trying to connect to the Internet but it doesn't do that. Is
there a bug with SMTP?

Another question is why when I set an alarm for an event, it doesn't
work. no pop up or anything like that...
