Highlights:

* Good progress with most use cases when using large calendar
* Startup with large calendar now under a minute on all platforms, and
about 20s on Windows and Linux

* Major regression with import time, nearly doubling between revisions
7714 and 8059 (Oct 10 - Oct 25).

We again found a regression with the perf tests, to which bear checked
in a fix. We have some hopes of getting the automated tests to run
through again...
