basically. re 1> centralize the config for core, eventually move out of
code to xml re 2> yup, although with latter options of runtime selection
of the profile via the profile manager.. i'm calling yagni for the
moment, as there are some nuances to some of the file/socket log
handlers that need to be dealt with to switch profiles. but down the
road it would be a nice option.
