[Dev] Do we need developer distributions?

Spurred by my abysmal experiences at trying to download and install
Eclipse (couldn't figure out what I needed to download, how to find the
plugin I needed, what documentation I needed to download and how to
install plugins), I would really like to make Chandler download a simple
task.
Right now if you go to download Chandler you are faced with a lot of
options. I don't think we need all those options, but please let me know
if you disagree.
Can we get rid of developer releases?
Can we get rid of developer milestones?
Can we get rid of developer continuous builds?
If you answered NO to any of those, why? You can always pull the source
from CVS by date or tag, and when you do the build it will pull the
corresponding source or binary tarballs (depending on whether you do
full build or make install).
Note that I am fine if the tinderbox still creates continuous developer
(debug) builds and distributions and runs unit tests. But I just don't
see the need to put these bits available anywhere.
