Hi Mimi,

I also store all my mailing list messages in separate folders, mainly 
for the last reason Heikki mentions, compartmentalizing projects.  There 
are dozens of mostly unrelated areas of my life I have background 
reading and tasks associated with, I tend to do triage on each area at 
different times and with different frequencies.
