i don't disagree, but i don't think the concept of "one url for me vs
a different url for everyone else" is the hard part.

regardless, the desktop should have the server support today that it
needs to find your published collections, so maybe we should be going
down that route anyway rather than putting in goofy hacks to support a
workaround workflow.
