I think proto 2 works the best. +1

When i was watching the demo today I was thinking of something  
different and I thought i would throw it out there.

I was thinking about what i would be like to actually flip the current  
UI. So the checkboxes would become a radio button where only one could  
be selected and highlighting the collection name would would select  
and deselect it from the overlay.

I know this a departure from what other UIs have been doing for  
overlays this is just what seemed intuitive to me.
