Removing the buttons completely is definitely an option -- although when
users are looking at different collection subscriptions, and some of
them are read-only, it might look weirder for the buttons to disappear
and reappear than just to disable. What do you think?

The error dialog when clicking into a form field sounds like it might be
a good idea. I don't think we need that for moving/resizing, since the
pointer is not a move/resize pointer, and dragging has no effect anyway
-- the lozenge itself won't move or resize.
