New Threads:

Mimi forwarded an untitled email to the list in response to a
discussion on the users list. The issue is around what text to
display when the user clicks on a collection containing no items.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006788.html
+ Mimi explained the rational around her suggested wording "no items
in this application area"

Priscilla forwarded a link to a page she created for the QA Test
Scenarios for 0.6.1.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006789.html
+ These scenarios are specifically for testing Chandler Desktop and
Chandler Hub.
+ There will be a separate IRC test session for us to check the
interop scenarios - iCal, CalDAV, Feed publisher. These interop
scenarios will also be added to the spec.
+ Priscilla has updated the wiki page with suggestions and updates.

Mimi sent out some instructions for the wiki gardening session held
on Tues Apr 3rd.

Mimi posted on app menus, context menus and tooltips. She drafted up
a wiki page spec for tooltips and logged a bug to reconcile this. She
also made some updates to the menus and context menu specs.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006791.html

Priscilla sent out an initial draft of the Cosmo 0.7 spec.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006793.html

Mimi sent out some updates to the Preview Recurrence Spec.
+ Due to the numerous conversations and issues that have been
discussed, Mimi thought it worthwhile to summarize in a wiki page.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006794.html

Heikki posted a thread about Jump to vs. Go to.
+ Heikki commented that it seems more intuitive that the menu items
(and associated short-cuts) should be titled "go to" rather than
"jump". He finds the 3 key short-cut for jump (Ctrpl-Shift-T) awkward.
+ Andre suggested changing F5 to refresh rather than create new
items. Heikki changed this.

Priscilla sent a Cosmo mail about Sign up for an account + adding the
currently viewed collection.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006800.html
+ Priscilla wanted to proposal some minor changes to the workflow
when a casual collaborator opens a bookmarkable URL, signs up for an
account, then wants to add this calendar to their subscription list.
It was a bit awkward for users to sign up for an account, then have
to go back and add the calendar to their list. Priscilla is proposing
having an option from the sign-up dialog to do this.
+ We may add a second option to subscribe from the email confirmation
page as well.

Priscilla sent out links to the wiki pages she has been working on
with target user write-ups for Preview and beyond. Priscilla thought
it was important to capture the target users we are focussing on for
Preview as well as the other potential future target users we have
been discussing.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006801.html
+ Priscilla is simply gathering some information on some of the non-
Preview target users that are emerging but these haven't been well
vetted or even discussed in detail. This exercise was more to capture
information we will look at in the future.

Jeffrey started a thread on Multiple meanings of remove.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006809.html
+ Jeffrey commented on the confusion having 2 different types of
remove - the stamping context "remove from task list" vs " remove
from collection".
+ He proposed we rename Remove to Remove Item from Collection so this
is clear.
+ Mimi suggests logging a bug for future but waiting for dogfood
feedback.

Priscilla sent out a list of the top 10 Cosmo performance scenarios
we should be focusing on for Preview.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006813.html

There is some discussion going on in bugzilla regarding [Bug 8697]
Set Master Password verbiage. Mimi forwarded the conversation to the
list.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006819.html
+ The proposal is to change the menu item verbiage to "Password
Protection" instead of "Protect Password"
+ There was subsequent discussion about the dialog captions. We would
call them the same thing "Password Protection".
+ Mimi also detailed what should be in all the various dialogs.

Priscilla posted a new thread on the Cosmo Process for UI review.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006826.html
+ Priscilla encouraged that developers assign any bugs that don't
seem clear from a UI perspective back to design so they can be
reviewed before the developers check in the code. This allows us to
iterate on the behavior if it hasn't been spec'd out fully.

Priscilla has created a page listing out the Cosmo performance
scenarios we are going to focus on for 0.7.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006828.html
+ There was some confusing about labeling this as 0.6.1 performance
work because these are really goals we are aiming for in Preview and
this work won't be looked at until after 0.6.1.

Priscilla also summarized the 0.6.1 test scenarios in the same page
as the performance scenarios above.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006829.html

Priscilla started a new thread to discuss [Bug 8081] New: account
setup information in signup dialog possibly incorrect or in need of
reorganization
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006837.html

Priscilla posted that she had updated the Cosmo 0.7 Spec.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006838.html

Priscilla sent out a summary of [Bug 7633] Moving event lozenge on
calendar canvas mid-edit loses edits in detail view.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006842.html
+ We are going to popup an alert to the user if they try and do this
so they know they will lose the edits they have made.

Priscilla added a couple of additional performance use cases to track
for Preview - Updated: Top twelve use cases for performance test for 0.7
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006843.html

Priscilla sent an email about a couple of Cosmo dogfood bugs - [Bug
8595]Need feedback to the user (dialog box) when user has added a
collection (or the same collection)
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006848.html

Continued Discussions:

Philippe replied to the thread on Update to Email Spec - New byline
scenario.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006806.html
+ Mimi had sent out an email clarifying the use case where a user
does not have an account but subscribes to a read write share - what
do we display in the byline?
+ Philippe requested some clarification around the meaning of xxx
when Mimi specified that if there is not sharing account OR not email
accounts setup, the byline should read "Created by (or edited by)
Chandler user on xxx.
+ xxx means the date/time

To continue the discussion Preview Countdown Meeting -- website
technologies agenda item on Pieter sent out a proposal for Preview.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006822.html
+ Most of our content will be on the wiki. We will likely have a
single or very few landing pages. Basically Pieter doesn't feel that
we need any additional content management tools since we have some
flexibility with what we can do with the wiki.

Other Stuff:

Peter sent out a link to Mail Act - On 1.3 - and inbox triage app.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/006795.html

Sheila sent out the notes from the Preview meeting on Monday Apr 2nd.
