App is much more stable! Yippeeee.

So I decided to try out the Dashboard. Currently I have 5 tasks in my
Work collection and about 10 tasks in my Home collection. My Home
collection has 3 events. I'm also subscribed to the Office and PPD
calendars.

Automatic triage back to the NOW section based on alarm dates and
start times is neat.

Ability to create events from the Dashboard without having to switch
over to the Calendar is great. So much more efficient for creating
multiple events.

I found that cognitively, I had trouble deciding which items were
tasks and which ones were just notes. I think that's because I don't
have very much stuff in there right now and no email either. Almost
everything I entered was a task.

Auto-filing based on Triage status makes it almost impossible to
triage anything as Later. As soon as I click once, the item
disappears into the Done section, which in my Work collection, has a
lot of items. I then have to hunt it down in order to mark it as
Later. I would say that for this reason fixing this should be a
blocker for Preview.

I instigated a manual sync and then tried to continue working to
create a new item. The beach ball came up and hung around for 10
minutes or so.

I tried to quit right after I triaged a task as Done. Chandler hung
around for a very very very long time. I force quit and then when I
came back, the

I shared my Home collection. Sharee was confused about a couple of
things:

1. What does it mean to Keep a collection out of the Dashboard? If
you're a Chandler user and you use Chandler on your own for a while
for task management and then you subscribe to a share, 'Keep out of
the Dashboard' might make sense.

However, if you're downloading Chandler purely to collaborate with
another Chandler user, then 'Keep out of the Dashboard' is one of the
first things you run into as an user. You may not even have noticed
that there was a collection called Dashboard in the sidebar.

This is fine for now, but post-preview, we should seriously consider
moving back to the model where absolutely everything flows into your
Dashboard and users use overlays to control what information they
focus on.

2. What does 'Subscribe as freebusy' mean? I thought I was sharing a
list of tasks with you. Also, why is there the word 'freebusy' in the
URL you sent me?

What can we do to auto-detect freebusy shares? It seems like the
sharee shouldn't be the person to decide whether a share is freebusy
or not, but I can't remember why we decided we couldn't auto-detect
this in Chandler.

In yesterdays' Magic URL design session, bcm talked about doing a
better job with our URLs, to make them more human-readable,
bookmarkable and hide implementation details.

That's it for now.
