[Design] Alpha 2 background synching

Yes, ideally we would like the "sync" button to change to "stop  
sync". I am not sure if we can do that for alpha 2 or not (we don't  
have much time left and I hate to add new requirements for Morgen).  
We might consider a menu item as a temp solution and add this for  
alpha3.
