[Design] [D/f] Preview area

So, I am finding the preview area fixed to always display today's  
events really useful. Originally, there was some discussion about  
whether or not it should update as we move in the calendar view or  
leave it fixed to display today's events. Personally, my week or day  
view is almost never on "today" since I schedule many meetings in  
advance and rarely navigate my calendar back to this week. For today,  
I could see in the preview area that it's my father-in-law's  
birthday, so I remembered to phone him - I often miss this kind of  
thing :-).
