[Design] Expando Date/Time fields

+1 (just adding my voice to the chorus of people saying it's a good 
idea... :) )

FWIW, Zimbra is  doing a pretty good job at parsing dates (and other 
things) in free form emails and that's one of their staring features. 
Works only in English though AFAIK.

Agree with Alec that if we do a good job at making the architecture 
modular, we can wet the appetite of international devs to provide 
localized algorithms. In the short term though, just providing the terse 
output is already a great step in the right direction.
