Hi Alec, newly synced events as in newly ADDED events or newly EDITED
events or BOTH?
I think the Editor of the shared item needs to be able to decide when
to actively PING fellow Sharees of changes, because they are the only
ones that know:
a) If the changes were significant
b) Significant for whom
If the Editor needs to focus a Sharee's attention on a shared item,
that shared item should show up in the NOW section of the Dashboard,
just like New email would. In other words, the item is auto-triaged
to go into your NOW section.
If the Editor doesn't want to bother a Sharee, the shared item needs
to show that it has been changed...and needs to be easily accessible
by the Sharee from either:
a) An Activity Log and/or
b) Any collections the item belongs to
We do this today with the wiki. If I make a significant change to a
wiki page or create a new page that is ready to be reviewed, I will
send email to the relevant people, alerting them to go check it out.
However, anyone can view the Changes feed to look at what's been
recently edited. However, just looking at the Changes feed doesn't
tell you whether YOU need to read/review or act on any of the
changes. Only the editor of the wiki page can tell you that.
