Hmm... That's precisely a case where I'd like to see a preference rather 
than clutter the UI with some systematic choice (with the afferent risk 
of choosing the wrong format sometimes).

I think that "mm/dd/yy vs dd/mm/yy" should ideally be a system wide 
setting (tied to locale) and honored by Chandler. This is one of the 
thing that PyICU is providing us with. We implemented it in as much 
places as we could in 0.6 but not everywhere (yet).
