[Design] Feature request - Outliner

Hi Dennis,

I like your feature proposal a lot. In fact, we may be coming to similar
conclusions about the need for a really good outline view.

I've also been a big fan of outlines. My master's thesis was written with
Living VideoText's More 3.0 and I miss Aldus Persuasion's superior outlining
capabilities (compared to PowerPoint).

> Some of the key areas where outlining will be used as a "Cross-Parcel
> Resource" within Chandler are as follows:
> - managing the left-hand pane of the "standard" 3-pane window
> - outlining within whatever simple text editor is in Chandler
> - outlining within the task management tool- as a way to easily
> define work breakdowns of larger tasks
> - outlining within a more generic "project folder" where the user
> drag-drops, and Chandler auto-filters all documents, emails, tasks,
> calendar entries, contacts, etc. that are related to that project.

Could you sketch this out in more concrete details? We think an outline view
of many mixed item types (e.g. email, tasks, events, attachments, notes,
etc.) grouped together as various projects may be very interesting.
(Ex-Xerox) PARC's Taskmaster project [1] also points to similar interesting
directions. Would be great to hear your views and ideas too.

Thanks,
chao
