I'm with Mitch -- I think Chandler will be the program he wants. I fully intend to do what *I* can do to make Chandler the killer program that he's talking about. :-) > Along with this email program, by the way, should come world class > support. Not just a mailing list and web forum but an email personal > trainer. A real person who walks you through setting up the program > for the first time, and who calls you once a week for the first few > months to talk about how the program has been working for you and > teaching you more of its features. Based on my recent experience as the author of some books on how to deal with email overload *and* as a "get through your email faster" trainer, I am not sure that people would actually make use of this. I met an amazing number of people who were almost hostile to the idea of spending any time learning how to get through email faster. Why? Unclear, but I think it's a combination of the following: + Learned helplessness: "I've taken people's advice on email before and it didn't work, so I'm not going to waste my time listening to you. Email is like commuting: it's a pain in the butt but there's nothing you can do about it." + Urgent things crowding out important things: "I don't have time to take a time management class." + Fear: "If I learn a few simple things that will save 50% of my email time, then I will have to live with the frustration of knowing that I could have done this years ago and saved myself countless hours. It's emotionally easier to believe that I've been doing the best that I could."
