Of course, there is the old fashioned way of drawing things on 2D
surfaces so that we think of them as 3D. You can get a squeeezed view of
two more side of the application that way. And if you add see-through
windows (you should be familiar with this if you have played with Mac OS
X), you can see a shadow representation of things behind your app (or
directly visible area in 3D app). I could easily imagine clicking and
holding a partly visible side and causing the app to rotate by moving
the mouse. I tried a little ASCII art below:
