It would preferably need to operate on LINUX and that usually seems to pose some problems. The list of features we have been using in our current prog have proven to be very useful. The features we have been looking for include f.ex.: Contact Management for single or multiple users and across both local and wide area networks. Contact tracking with a journal, normal calendars, personalized mail-shots and e-mails, which we value a lot (making a personal email to say a category of contacts) task management, custom report designer for listings, labels or envelopes, alarms, searching and filtering, (strings, category membership, etc. from the contact & address book data) document linkage (some use) working ok together with Star office, Open office & some email-client to use html-email templates and paper letter templates (crucial to marketing letters & emails) and so forth... I have found Smart Address very close to the kind of prog wed need.
