'Lo design,

  Someone  referred  this  site to me today as it has been one of the recent
  discussions  on  our  non-public  forums.  I would just like to submit the
  criteria  that  we  came up with if we were looking for a number one Email
  Client. This was the imaginary spec we came up with at the time:

- -  Seemless  support  for  all  the  well known Antivirus packages, free and
retail versions - this was right near the top on the list

- -  Integrated mail checker utility (tray support for Windows) to monitor all
incoming messages, eradicate and bounce spam, and scan for infections before
passing  messages to main email client. - we agreed that the features should
be similar to that of a program called Mailwasher

- -  main  email client supports multiple pop3 accounts, IMAP, multiple users,
shared accounts, webmail + hotkey support

- - editor to support html, plaintext, and an option to use an external editor
of choice, say  NoteTab fro example.

- -  fully  integrated  OpenPGP  support, with key generation wizard and fully
compatible with PGP/GnuPGP/OpenPGP based software.

- -  comprehensive  filtering,  searching, exporting, and archiving wizards, +
user macro support

- -  ability  to  export  mail  bases  to  self  extracting mail archives with
integral viewer and search facility to manage archived mail + OpenPGP secure
password option to prevent unauthorised access

- -  Integrated  smtp  server  and pop3 server modules for ultimate control of
your email
