[Design] Easy backup

As a long time Outlook user, over the past 5 or 6 years of using email,
I have had two major disasters resulting in the loss of years worth of
email. Until you've lost your email archive (as I'm sure many will
understand, having suffered this same fate), you can't truly appreciate
its value.

Obviously prudent back-up procedures can prevent loss of data like this
(something I am much more careful with now). However, it is much harder
than it should be. I'm sure most Outlook users couldn't find their .PST
file, if they even know what it is.

The more successful this project is, the more people will reply on it to
store more important information, the more important easy backup will
be.

I'm intrigued by the inclusion of integrated "Instant Messaging and
presence management" as the two most valuable pieces of information on
my computer are my email archive and my instant messaging archive.

Has any consideration been given to threading of messages (at least on
display)? This is a feature I miss enormously when moving from web-based
communication systems (threaded discussions, intranets, etc.) to email.
I know Outlook has made an attempt to provide threaded display, but it
has never been good enough to bother with.

Thanks,
Steven Garrity
