[Design] Status of the project, required areas for effort?

I am interested in contributing to the project, and would like to know
how best to start.

I'd be particularly interested in hearing about the overall project
design (data store, general object model), and which areas of the
project need development at the moment (particularly those which might
be accomplished properly without access to the current prototype (whose
existence I intuit from the various documents on the web-site)).

By way of introduction, I'm a fairly advanced Python programmer (about 6
or 7 years experience now), with background in text parsing, wxPython
GUIs, basic security, encryption and PKIs, 3D graphics, and VR MUTechs
(real-time collaborative networking). I'm also a professional designer
(design theorist, particularly). As an aside, I've built a (crude)
calendaring application.

Enjoy yourselves,
Mike
