Somehow - get away from the hierarchical view of data that PIMs (and
computer programs in general).

A database view of email, as mentioned, in a great idea.  Ditto for
contacts. In Outlook 2002 I have the main Contacts, with several
sub-groups under it. 

Sometimes it's hard to remember where someone is. Plus, some people
belong in more than one groups. So, a non-kludgy way of accessing Views
of people would be helpful.
