I think there's a fair amount of parallel between this kind of view of a mail conversation, and a recording of an IM session. I don't do much IM, so I haven't seen any archival interfaces, but it seems to me you don't want to store every one-line response as an item in the UI, but the digest of the entire conversation is valuable. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems that the metadata of each one-liner would be much greater than the message itself -- highly costly compared to the metadata for the whole conversation factored out. _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
