also, I think it needs to be really easy to jump bottom-up from a 
specific item (e.g. email message) to a window giving lots of 
surrounding context as navigational options (this becomes more important 
as you use a rating model to pick things to look at, so I think you end 
up less likely to use a view-folder-as-threads view)
* containing thread - thread-view showing which already read, etc. (it 
shocks me that both Moz and Outlook fail to do offer this, even in 
UseNet where it's so obvious!)
* links to people in header (and maybe body, esp if written as WikiName)
* links to any child records: ToDo, CalendarEvent, etc.
