[cosmo-dev] Migration Question?

Hi All,

after well over a year of Cosmo running very happily on my little home 
server, we are planning to migrate the service to our main hosted 
machine somewhere "out there"...

The current Cosmo is based on a SVN snapshot from version 0.12 and is 
using Postgresql as the backend db.

I'd like to start with a fresh install on our hosted server and will 
almost certainly use MySQL this time round.

As there are not many users (4 currently) of the server, I am thinking 
about actually trying to export the collections as ICS files and 
importing them into the new server rather than trying to migrate the 
entire db from PostgreSQL to MySQL whilst also having to migrate the 
schema from 0.12-snapshot to the current release.

Is this a sensible approach or can anyone recommend a better way?
