This might help you. we have been using Cosmo for quite a while now and
using the Thunderbird calendar extension (Lightning). All comms between
Lightning and Cosmo is using CalDAV. I can easily move events using the
TB gui simply by changing the calendar that appears in the drop down box
and saving it.
Perhaps you could track the conversation that TB/Lightning makes to see
how it does it?
