I think the real source of confusion is that our data model is not  
based upon iCalendar. Rather, iCalendar is one format that we support  
import/export to and from. A VTODO spans the space between a "Chandler  
Task" and a "Chandler Event."

Perhaps one solution would be for the server to treat VTODOs with date  
information as Chandler Notes with Task and Event stamps?
