If this means that when you create a "task" in Cosmo, it gets exported
as such, I agree. There doesn't appear to be a way to explicitly NOT
create an event from within the calendar view. Selecting the
Mark-as-Task checkbox should override the event setting IMHO.

Nice.

When I started using Cosmo the first thing I found confusing was that
tasks don't appear in the web display of the calendar by default -
adding a per-user choice to show tasks in calendar view would be great.

The other thing that caught me out was when saving a task from lightning
into my Cosmo calendar, it is stored, but I can't see it either in the
calendar UI or the list based presentation. The calendar I stored it in
is a subscribed to calendar for which I have a read/write ticket. The
task is stored as it displays correctly in Lightning when I reload or
reboot Thunderbird.

Cheers

Alan
