[cosmo-dev] Projections in Atom links

Hi all

I've been thinking about bug 11613 (https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11613 
) today and was wondering if there's a reason we include projections  
on links other than the self links in Atom representations of items.  
 From a client perspective I'm beginning to suspect it might be  
simpler (for example, to get different projections of the "expanded"  
link) if they were omitted. I see in the comments of  
BaseItemFeedGenerator that "[projections being added] is usually done  
for read links but not edit links" and was hoping I this could be  
elaborated upon.
