There was a Sunbird bug that resulted in both DTEND and DURATION being 
included for events that came in with DURATION (Chandler uses 
DURATION).  I thought I remember it being fixed in the latest Sunbird 
code.   The fix was to not include DURATION when updating events with 
DURATION, and instead only include DTEND.  What version are you running?
