Hi folks,

A few of us met today to talk about the Cosmo 0.8 release. We've
been talking about Cosmo 0.8 as a release focused on
interoperability, specifically interoperability with iCal 3, to be
included in Leopard. We were able to do some testing at the recent
CalConnect interoperability event, although not as much as we would
have liked. We've made a lot of interoperability progress in the
Cosmo 0.8 branch, and we agreed that we want to keep up the rhythm of
our time based release cycles. So we are going to go ahead and do a
Cosmo 0.8 on a timed release basis, although not at the 1 week
interval that we've been using for the 0.7.x bug fix releases.

The current plan is to build the first Cosmo 0.8 release candidate on
Friday, October 5. This release is probably going to need more
extensive validation that the 0.7.x series, so it would be good if we
can find a way to start doing some QA before that October 5 date.
I'm not sure what the final target date for Cosmo 0.8 should be -- my
thought is that we probably want a full 5 days of QA for 0.8, but I'd
be interested in hearing from the QA team as to how much time they
would like to have.

As always, questions, comments, and suggestions welcome.

Ted
