Here's the summary of the activity on cosmo-dev for the week of
September 2, 2007.
New threads:
-------
Roberto Polli checked on the status of his CalDAV4J patches.
+ Bobby Rullo replied that they looked fine, and integrated them.

Ted Leung proposed a plan for the Cosmo 0.7.1 (and really 0.7.x)
release. After a long discussion, the overall outline looks like this:
* Cosmo 0.7.x will release every Tuesday (with the goal of upgrading
the Hub later that day)
* QA needs 3 days to validate a release
* Changes for a given week are done by thursday, bugs not done by
thursday are punted to 0.7.x+1
* Branching: 0.7.x off of 0.7, trunk = 0.8, 0.7.x and 0.7.x+1 to be
active so that work continues on 0.7.x+1 while 0.7.x is being QA'ed.
Fixes to be manually committed to appropriate branches as they are made.
* Also there were some issues with windmill that need addressing so
that windmill can run on tinderbox. Bugs have been logged against
Windmill

Roberto Polli wanted a way to get better error messages in CalDAV4J
+ Bobby Rullo pointed out that the exception handling code wraps the
original exception, which contains the desired information.

Roberto Polli noted that CalDAV4J is out of spec on search by UID
+ Bobby Rullo said that CalDAV4J is several revs behind the RFC, and
welcomed patches.

Ted Leung canceled the Cosmo release meeting for the 0.7.x series,
since it seemed too slow moving to wait for a weekly meeting when a
release was a week long. Release issues were to be managed in the
mailing list.

Ted Leung commented on a checkin of the Cosmo pom.xml file whose sole
purpose was to set the release to SNAPSHOT, and which was an oops, I
didn't change it in all the places. He proposed investing some brain
power in making problems like this go away.

Katie Parlante posted some thoughts on how to prioritize during
0.7.x. The short of it is that PPD/QA/Eng should feel free to move
bugs into 0.7.current without needing the bug council, since the bug
council is frequently in agreement on the disposition of bugs. When
this happens the person moving the bug should send mail to cosmo-dev
to make sure that everyone sees this. If anyone has a concern about
a bug that has been moved in, it can be revisited on the list.
There will still be a weekly IRC sweep of new bugs.

Roberto Pollio asked about switching CalDAV4J to HTTPClient 3
+ The issue is that CalDAV4J relies on Slide which relies on
HTTPClient 2
+ Roberto was going to investigate use of HTTPClient 3 by Bedework
