Here's the summary of the activity on cosmo-dev for the week of
October 21, 2007.
New threads:
-------
Mikeal Rogers was concerned about Cosmo Windmill tests being broken
due to JSON serialization bug in Windmill. He was also concerned
about the number of long timeouts in the tests.

Ted Leung reiterated Mikeal Roger's reminder that developers not mark
untargetted bugs fixed.

Juanjo Floristán found two issues in CalDAV4J: 1) the client library
cannot handler relative URI's in responses, 2) Content-Length is not
set for a REPORT
+ Bobby Rullo checked in a fix for the relative URI issue, but said
the Content-Length is in fact being set.

Ted Leung reported the need for a 6th Cosmo 0.8RC, due to a migration
bug that prevents user preferences from being saved.

Matthew Eernisse made some improvements to Windmill's Javascript test
framework.

005068.html>
Antonio Muñiz ran into trouble modifying code in /js/cosmo/account/
settings.js. His problems were a combination of Dojo build issues
and an unfortunate coincidence with a hardware outage at OSAF.

005069.html>
Ted Leung felt that it was time to branch for Cosmo 0.9.
005089.html>
Ted Leung started a discussion on how to solve the problem of Cosmo's
Out Of The Box (OOTB) collection, which contains a space it's DAV
name. This causes iCal3 to break. Proposed solutions were: 1)
rename the default collection to remove the space 2) do a piece of UI
to allow users to change the DAV name.
+ In the ensuing discussion there was concern about breaking existing
user's default collections (if the default name were changed), and
the amount of work it would take to do a DAV name change UI.

Mike Dawson reported a problem migrating from Cosmo 0.7.1 to Cosmo
0.8. He was using Derby as his database, and there was a bug in
Derby migration for 0.8.
+ Randy Letness was able to help Mike regain access to his data.

Ted Leung summarized an IRC conversation on how to handle the Derby
migration bug. That is: pull the Cosmo 0.8 release bits and fix the
Derby migration bug in Cosmo 0.8.1.

Brian Moseley pointed out that there is now a CardDAV plugin for
Lightning.

Ted Leung moved all unfixed bugs from Cosmo 0.9 to Cosmo 0.10.
People will be working on these bugs until Adam Christian posts his
Windmill test coverage note.

2007-10-24 and noted his belief that many of the bugs in the 6 Cosmo

people to think about ideas for improving the situation in advance of
that meeting.
