[cosmo-dev] CalDAV servers avail: RSCDS and Apple Calendar Server

I've installed two free non-Cosmo CalDAV servers on an OSAF test
machine to gives us the opportunity to test interop if we find a use
for them. These instances won't really be maintained, and if
something gets horked they may need to be reset, but it seems nice to
have them lying around.

The sites are:

   http://rscds.osaf.us/ - RSCDS
   http://applecalendar.osaf.us:12000// - Apple Calender Server

(I can't put applecalendar on port 80 in this case because of either a
bug in the software or docs.)

For either, login to their web UIs with username admin, password admin.

Apple Calendar Server is also configured with a bunch more accounts;
see:

http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/calendarserver/browser/CalendarServer/trunk/conf/accounts-test.xml

There's user00 through user99 with password the same as the user, for
instance.

Both tools provide only admin and acct management functions through
their web UI. Our admin/account-browser UI seems better than either
(on the whole). I did really like having access to the full DAV
property lists in full geek form like Applecal does; I learned some
DAV by just browsing around. I tend to prefer the pretty direct
"navigating a directory list" feel, with additional metadata below.
And their principal detail page provides nice detail. By browsing the
URL tree, one can get an additional feel for product features: under
principals is /groups, /locations, /resources, /sudoers, /users. Both
products have more role support than Cosmo, so the admin UI has areas
with more stuff as a result.

I'm planning to do a short demo of these two at Thursday's OSAF staff
meeting.
