Well, it all depends on the nature of the calendar. If we are talking  
about a public read-only calendar, then I fail to see why https would  
be a requirement, rather than an option? Its not as if this would be  
bring in any extra security. On the other hand, semi-public calendars,  
with an invite only or group-based audience, would benefit from the  
extra security provided by https.
