If it's showing checked-in changes, it's simple to wrap a web UI around 
existing automated instance-builders, so one could just pick a branch 
(including trunk) and a revision (including HEAD) and press a HTML form 
button to cook a new instance.

We've had auto-rebuilt instances in the past.  We found them overall not 
useful.  Perhaps something specific has changed?  Offhand, I would guess 
that the UI-intensiveness of the dashboard features in 0.7 is perhaps 
different than earlier uses of auto-built instances.  If multiple 
developers will be creating user-visible changes, then these 
auto-instances are perhaps now helpful.  If it's just one dev, I'd guess 
we wouldn't find much benefit over a developer-hosted instance (like mde's).
