[Cosmo-dev] Cosmo 0.7 planning status

Hi folks,

I wanted to summarize where we are on planning for Cosmo 0.7.   I've  
broken down the work areas below.

1. Server

Brian and Randy are working on proposals for server work on 0.7.  You  
can see their work in progress pages here:

In addition to the items that we pick from these lists, we'll also be  
spending some time looking at performance, robustness and other  
quality of implementation issues

2. Admin UI

Priscilla is working with Jared to solidify a set of admin features  
for Preview.  The current list of candidates includes:

* Improving the infrastructure for gathering metrics
* Ability to search for users in the admin console
* Ability to deactivate user accounts

3. General UI

Priscilla has assembled a list of UI improvements <http://tinyurl.com/ 
24dkaj> based on "dogfood" feedback from Cosmo users.  We'll be  
estimating / prioritizing this list over the next few days.

Another project in the General UI bucket is to rebrand the Cosmo UI  
with a new logo, styles.

4. Dashboard

The major project for the Cosmo UI will be a beginning implementation  
of the dashboard functionality from Chandler.   The features/tasks  
for this can be tracked from this bugzilla bug <https:// 
bugzilla.osafoundation.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=8470>.    Bobby  
and Travis will be working on the backend/plumbing for the dashboard  
and Matthew will be working on the UI (although perhaps Bobby and  
Travis might be able to lend a hand once the backend stuff is  
done).   Bobby and Travis have <http://wiki.osafoundation.org/Journal/ 
CosmoWebUIPlumbingTimeEstimates> put up a page with their tasks and  
estimates -- this information is now encoded in the bugzilla bugs  
(well, except for the estimates).   In a meeting today we got  
estimates from Matthew for most of the UI tasks.   The design team is  
now going to take that information and adjust their priorities for  
dashboard UI features.

We'll continue to track Cosmo 0.7 bugs using the regular bugzilla  
mechanisms.
