Here's the summary of the activity on cosmo-dev for the week of March
4, 2007.

New threads:
-------

Andre Muenninghoff report some problems accessing the Cosmo home page
from a Blackberry 8700 (other AJAX apps do work)

003117.html>

Ted Leung opened a troubleshooting thread related to problems that
Chandler users were having with Cosmo 0.6 on osaf.us. This thread
ultimately resulted in a fix and a Cosmo 0.6.0.1 release.

Jared Rhine forwarded some benchmarks indicating that Linux is not as
good as FreeBSD for highly concurrent MySQL installations.
* The usual questions about PostgreSQL ensued.

003129.html>

Ted Leung wanted to know about the current situation with Cosmo and
Tinderbox.
* Mike Taylor (bear) responded with the information

003130.html>

Tam Fdec asked about the LAST-MODIFIED property in ICS files
* He received no answer

003135.html>

Priscilla Chung asked people to remember to send their Cosmo dogfood
feedback to 'chandler-users'
003146.html>

Philippe Bossut called a meeting to coordinate Cosmo/Chandler
integration testing
<http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/cosmo-dev/2007-March/
003147.html>

Bobby Rullo re-raised the items in multiple collections security issues.
003149.html>

Bobby Rullo had a question about the performance of an item's parent
collection if there are items that are in many collections
<http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/cosmo-dev/2007-March/
003151.html>

Bobby Rullo thought of a way to leak information out of collections
via bookmarkable URLs
* Fortunately there is a reasonably easy fix/workaround

Continuing Conversations:
-------

Discussion of the dashboard plumbing continued.
* A major theme was how much intelligence should be in the domain
level objects
<http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/cosmo-dev/2007-March/
003088.html>

The discussion of how to represent modifications continued. This
weeks threads traded off ItemModifications and NoteModifications
versus adding a few fields (parendUUID, recurrenceID) to each record.
003093.html>

Discussion continued (began, really) on Travis Vachon's WebUI Service
Layer proposal. Major points of the discussion
* A move to have all "user" code use the Model Data Convenience API
* What's the right layering for things like collections (are there
even objects that represent collections); How much is the Conduit
layer exposed
* Presence of recurrence specific methods on Items
* Items in multiple collections (and the worse case of the
collections using different conduits)
003097.html>

Further discussion on the Topics (notification) Proposal:
* questions regarding granularity of channels
* need to know which part of the UI published to a topic
