Basically, Linux performance falls at higher levels of MySQL 
concurrency.  FreeBSD (very recent and patched) doesn't.

Core Linux kernel hackers have confirmed the behavior.  Which gives me 
confidence it'll be tracked down, because nobody wants to have a graph 
like the above floating around :)

The "8 core amd64" test platform is the same CPU configuration as our 
Preview production box.
