Here's the summary of the activity on cosmo-dev for the week of June
10, 2007.

New threads:
-------

Brian Moseley proposed using Atom's media facilities, along with
XHTML based microformats for creating and updating in the Cosmo Web
UI. Cosmo would continue to use eimml and eim-json for representing
items,.
+ there was a lengthy discussion about how hard it would be to
implement these changes.

Brian Moseley wondered if a collection's item feed needed to include
all the data for each item/entry, and suggested specialized feeds for
the various projections needed by the web UI.
+ Travis Vachon thought that it might be good to have specialized
feeds, but was concerned about whether this could be done for Preview.

Randy Letness wanted to know how non-event items got sorted in the
dashboard, since they are missing a triageStatusChanged to compare to
triageStatusChanged.
+ He and Brian Moseley tossed some ideas back and forth and asked
desktop folks what happened in Chandler Desktop.
+ Jeffrey Harris responded that everything on the desktop has
triageStatusChanged and felt that using last-modified time (as
proposed) would be just fine.

Tim Pokorny, a Google Summer of Code student, introduced himself and
his project - providing Comet style event notifications to the Cosmo
web UI.

Randy Letness wanted to know whether feeds that include modifications
or occurrences should also include the master's recordset, and if so,
where.
+ after a long exchange, people agreed that nothing should be changed
from the way that the feeds currently work.

003922.html>

Bobby Rullo proposed adding a mechanism (query parameter/header/etc)
to tell the server that the client is changing the start date of a
master event, and that the server needs to change the recurrence id's
of that master event's occurrences.
+ Brian Moselely reversed objections that he raised in IRC and agreed
that this was a useful thing to do.

003929.html>

Brian Moseley checked in code to provide the feeds needed by the
dashboard.
+ There was some additional discussion about whether and how to
support timezone information in the feeds. It turns out that
timezone information is needed.

Cosmo so he could figure out how to use windmill to run jsunit based
tests.
