Yup.  I think you'll find more recent versions operating better.

For the foreseeable future, Lightning will be somewhat ahead of Sunbird 
due to focus decisions by Mozilla.

Hopefully you can try a more recent version and close this issue out. 
If you can't upgrade to a nightly, you'll probably have to wait for the 
any-day-now 0.5 official release.
