Hi folks,

Here's a general update on where things are with the Cosmo 0.7 release:

The Dashboard UI is the critical path for getting to feature complete
for 0.7. There are two major pieces of work: a) a revamped detail
view that show stamps. 2) the dashboard table view and accompanying
client side behavior (triaging).

Matthew has checked in a version of the revamped detail view that is
read-only - it can populate itself correctly from the currently
selected item in the calendar. Bobby is going to add the code that
restores saving functionality. For QA purposes, it ought to be
possible to start testing read only detail view behavior. Matthew
is going to go on and start work that leads to the table view. His
next stop is to do the view selector to allow switching between
dashboard and calendar view. After that, he is going to start on the
actual list view itself. When he does that, he is going to try and
fix (and then not change) the structural elements of the list view
(divs and their names, etc) so that we can start writing tests for
the simpler list behaviors. The current estimates that we are
working off of include 5 days of slush/padding. The detail view
work has taken a bit longer than expected, and we have eaten 2 of
those 5 days already.

Travis and Brian are doing dashboard infrastructure support in the
client and server, respectively. Travis will soon be rolling off to
work on search in the admin UI, and Brian will start looking at the
server side implementation of the dashboard sorting/triaging
behavior. Randy will also be helping with these behaviors, in
addition to looking at Cosmo server performance. He just checked in
some code that will help him get a better characterization of where
performance bottlenecks are.

We have a lot of things going on right now, and it is hard to keep
track of what is happening, even if you are reading all the commit
messages. I am going to try and do a summary like this every week
from now until we hit feature complete. If people have questions
which aren't answered her, or corrections, please feel free to ask/
follow up.

Ted
