Ok, sounds like you're saying my understanding is whack, which I accept 
(and forgot to say is a distinct possibility).

It remains a truth that nobody has been able to restore a collection 
from a migrated instance.  This is obviously a blocker for osaf.us 
migration :)

We'll need to get to an explanation of why nothing can be restored; 
apparently it's not the bug number I thought it was.
