Here's the summary of the activity on cosmo-dev for the week of July
29, 2007.

New threads:
-------

Matthew Eernisse was concerned about having non-translatable strings
in the message file
+ Brian Moseley reviewed standard practice for localized URLs in Java
webapps, and Travis Vachon was amenable to Matthew's suggestions
about size constants

Matthew Eernisse pointed out some problems with the new Javascript
error handling code, namely that it now forced all lower layer errors
to go to a pop dialog box and to not got to the regular javascript
console.
+ There was an active discussion about the tradeoffs between
implementing the new error handling code which seems better for end
users, and satisfying Matthew's desire for an environment which would
be efficient for developers
+ It looked like a comprehensive and architecturally clean solution
was beyond the timeframe for Cosmo 0.7

Philippe Bossut reminded people that Bugzilla was to be upgraded to
Bugzilla 3.0 on Tues Jul 31 (the upgrade was successful)

Ted Leung proposed a list of bugs to defer from Cosmo 0.7
+ People agreed with the proposal, and the bugs were deferred
+ As part of this discussion, it was decided to defer support for
Safari to a 0.7 point release.

Heikki Toivonen wanted to deprecate the LATER resolution after the
Bugzilla upgrade and take all bugs resolved LATER, and reopen them
under the Future milestone
+ Ted Leung agreed, and Heikki moved the bugs

Randy Letness discovered a problem with items in multiple
collections, where the modifications to a recurring event might end
up in a different collection than their parent event. He fixed the
problem but discovered that there was already live data with the
problem modifications. He wanted to know whether the migration code
should fixup these errors.
+ there was general agreement that the migration code should fix
extant instances of the problem.
