[Cosmo-dev] Windmill

Hi all,
It seems like there's been a number of reopened bugs lately - not a
terrible amount, but it did make me think to ensure that bugs we
close STAY closed, we should really be writing windmill tests for all
our UI related check-ins. This is not an original idea or anything,
but I feel like it's especially relevant now as we come close to the
end of the release - we don't want to start playing an endless game
of wack-a-mole.
So to this end, I svn up'd my windmill directory and tried to get
going. Sadly, the wx gui version was really slow, and crashed on me.
So then I decided to use the CLI version, which is more up my alley
anyhow. I figured out how to load all the tests...but didn't get much
beyond that unfortunately! I just didn't know the commands, and
couldn't find docs on them anywhere.
I'm afraid that at this point it seems (as so often happens in Open
Source projects) the functionality of Windmill has outpaced the
documentation. I would love to see a page listing all the CLI
commands on the wiki, and perhaps even a page on the Cosmo section of
our wiki detailing how to use Windmill w/ Cosmo.
Or in the meantime at the very least, maybe someone could hold my
virtual hand tomorrow in IRC as I attempt to run/create a test. I'd
really like to make Windmill part of my everyday toolkit.
Anyhow
